BLUDGER

BLUD-jur -- (n.) Someone who avoids work or responsibility.

The slang roots of this word is surprisingly rougher than what it means today; it once meant a sort of bully who benefitted off the work of others. To "bludge" is the act of avoiding work and responsibility. Through the long journey that is English usage, this word made its way to New Zealand and Australia and thrived. Now it has made its way to you. If you haven't already, here's to putting this word to work.
